The INFO sections are accessed from the Navigation Palette by clicking on the Info button. The display of the different sections of the Info window is very similar to a View by Name in the Finder® under system 7. It also works the same way.
It is a Read-only section, meaning that you cannot send messages or files to these sections. They are for your information only!
 
The main functions are:
Double-clicking...
Double-clicking on a folder name, will open a new Information window, displaying the content of this folder.
Little arrows
 
Clicking on the little arrow on the left side of a folder, will open it and display an outline view of its content in the current Information window.
Transfer button
Used to download a file from the BBS. Select the file, then click Transfer.
Print button
Used to print a TEXT file from the BBS. Select the file, then click Print.
Search
Used to search for any filename or section (folder) name.
Get Info
Gives you the same information as its counterpart in the Finder, in a similar window. Use it to obtain more information and comments about a file or section (folder).
Read
Used to read text files on-line. Select the TEXT file, then click Read.
The FORUMS section
 
The Forums section is accessed from the Navigation Palette by clicking on the Forum button. It is a public Read/Write section, where you can exchange ideas, ask questions, send files, ...
It's operation is very straightforward and its outline view makes it easy to follow a discussion thread, without resorting to special commands, sorting, and the rest.
You can include any number of files (enclosures) within your messages. A single click will display these enclosed files, without even having to open the memo first.
 
The main functions are:
Paperclip
The top bar of the window displays an image of a paperclip. The number below that column will display the number of enclosed files in a message.
Double-clicking…
Double-clicking on a message name, will open it in a new window, displaying the contents of this message.
Little arrows
 
Clicking on the little arrow on the left side of a message, will open the threads to this message and display an outline view of the replies.
Transfer button
Used to download the message from the BBS and save it to your hard disk. Select the file, then click Transfer.
Print button
Used to print a message directly. Select the file, then click Print.
New
Will let you start a new topic on the first level of the Forums section.
Enclosure
Displays the name and size of the files enclosed within a selected message. Select the file, then click Enclosure.
Reply
Used to reply directly to a selected message. The reply will be posted to the current level displayed. Select the file, then click Reply.
Read
Used to read text files on-line. Select the TEXT file, then click Read.
The TELECONFERENCE
 
The Teleconference section is accessed from the Navigation Palette by clicking on the Conference button. This section allows for live group meetings on-line. Any number of users can participate live in discussions and later save or print the minutes of the meeting.
 
It's main features are:
Background operation
You can be browsing through an INFO section, while leaving the Teleconference window on the screen and receiving messages.
Formatted message window
You can give the look you want to the text displayed in your message window. Everything, from the font, size, style, color, etc, is user adjustable.
Printing and Saving
Using the small icons at the top, you can save, print, and see the list of participating users.
The BBS MAIL window
This is where you manage your mail. It is accessible from the Windows menu or by clicking on the Mail Palette. It is available on or off-line.
 
It's main features are:
Unlimited enclosures
You can send an unlimited number of enclosures to an unlimited number of correspondents with one memo.
Formatted text
The text of your messages can be formatted to your taste, using the Format menu items.
Off-line operation
You can compose memos off-line, save them to your OUT box and send them at a later time when you connect.
Full support for individual and group addressing
The hi-BBS Address Book lets you build a flexible list of correspondents, where you can group any number of users under one name and then use that group name as an address when sending mail.
